Manage Project Hub

Project Hub in Coginiti Team addresses the common challenge of decentralized project management by offering a centralized repository for your company. This space serves as the hub for publishing, sharing, and saving projects, enhancing organizational efficiency and accessibility.

Admins are responsible for setting up and maintaining the structure of the Package Hub. Only admins can define access levels and assign specific roles to team members, ensuring secure and organized management of projects.

Based on the company's structure and needs, an admin can establish a repository structure in the Package Hub. This involves organising and saving projects in a way that aligns with team workflows and management strategies.

To Organize a Project Hub:

  1. In the left sidebar, navigate to the ‘Project Hub’ section in the Catalog.
  2. Right-click on a space within the side panel in ‘Project Hub’ to bring up the context menu.
  3. Select 'New Folder' to create a new entity.
  4. Locate the folder to which you need to grant access within your company's structure, then right-click on it to open the context menu.
  5. Choose ‘Share’ to start granting the necessary access level.
  6. In the pop-up that appears, choose between individual users or a groups.
  7. Decide on the Access Level you want to assign:
    1. Publisher: Users with this level of access can publish projects and their new versions within this folder.
    2. Viewer: Can view the contents of the folder, including projects and their entities, but cannot publish anything within this folder.
  8. After setting the appropriate access level, click 'Share' to finalize the process.

🔎 NOTE: Regardless of a user's access level, to make edits to an already published project, they must go through the publishing process and publish a new version of the project. This prevents the overwriting of existing versions.

An admin can create any required repository structure within the  ‘Project Hub’ section and set appropriate levels for effective control, reuse, and storage of code. It's important to note ⚠️ that when assigning a specific access level to a folder, the same level of access is applied to everything inside it.
